In this profile, i will introduce Engr. Egan Adat Okon-Effiong; a pacesetter in the oil and gas industry who has become an inspiring role model for others. Engr. Egan Adat Okon-Effiong is a multi-level IT Engineer, Business Analyst and skilled expert with over 15 years’ boardroom experience in the Oil and Gas sector. As an expert, she has vast knowledge in almost all aspects of oil and gas operations, from upstream to downstream operations.
She is an Analyst who responds to shifting business needs and priorities in a systematic and effective way with her professional IT background by optimizing oil and gas processes and thus improving the efficiency and viability of operations for efficiency.
A result oriented Human Resources Executive with broad experience in all areas of Human Resources, including policy development, performance engagement, and benefits administration, she works with individuals, professionals, corporate leaders, organisations, and governments to become the effective leaders they truly desire and deserve to be. Engr. Engr Egan Adat Okon-Effiong started her early academic sojourn; primary School at Command Children School, Calabar and maintained a top lead graduating as one of the best pupils upon completion.
Consequent upon her intellectual proficiency, she proceeded to Edgerly Memorial Girls Secondary, Calabar for her post primary education. After obtaining a degree in Computer Science and Maths Statistics from the Polytechnic Calabar, she was admitted to Dorben Polytechnic, Abuja for a Higher National Diploma in Computer Engineering.
As a member of the Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) and Nigerian Computer Society (NCS), she proceeded to The University of Texas at Austin for a post-graduate diploma in Data Science and Business Analytics.
Engr Egan holds a post graduate diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja , FCT.
She began her career as a Database Administrator with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Abuja between 2007 to 2010.
Her job description include staff training, perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity, building database systems of high availability and quality, design and implement database in accordance to staff information needs and views, etc etc.
Between 2010 to 2012, she became Employee Relation Officer of the NNPC, Abuja ensuring industrial harmony, consulting with trade unions, advising the Human Resources team in dealing with employee relations, managing employment cases and maintaining employment policies.
She worked her way up to become the corporation IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, ENSERV Nig. Ltd. (Subsidiary of NNPC Limited) viz:

Engr. Egan Adat Okon-Effiong is currently the IT Support Specialist, ENSERV Nig. Ltd.(Subsidiary of NNPC LTD), Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
As IT Support Specialist, she has continued to successfully lead the company’s IT sector in ensuring the IT systems are operating effectively and efficiently, that end users receive technical support to perform their jobs, managing a team of IT Technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring performances, developing and implementing IT Support procedures by ensuring that all IT Support requests are handled in a consistent efficient manner, training of the end-users on how to use various hardwares and softwares applications, as well as IT security best practices, staying up to date with new technologies and trends in the IT industry in ensuring that the organization’s IT systems are current and effective.
Her vast knowledge in the Oil and Gas sector has impacted heavily on oil exploration and production, refining, trading, supply and distribution, upstream (exploration and production), downstream (supply and trading), shipping, and sub-surface engineering activities.
So far, Engr Egan Adat Okon-Effiong has demonstrated an unwavering determination to succeed against all odds.

She was the Chairperson of Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) Rivers State chapter from October 2022 to May 2023. Her seven months reign as Chairperson brought a huge transformation with improved welfare for wives of police officers, men and widows of the Nigeria Police force.
During the period, she empowered and trained 118 women in skills acquisition, manpower development etc. and graduated them with starter kits to start different categories of business for sustainable economic growth and self reliance.
In her words: “Such provisions would help to boost the morale of officers and their wives, as well as enable them to continually contribute significantly to the overall development of the Police Force and the entire country”.
Engr Egan Adat Okon-Effiong is a passionate philanthropist who always seeks to promote the welfare of others, especially by the generous donation of money to good causes. Over the years she has engaged herself in various charitable acts and other good works that has helped several people in society.
Engr Egan Adat Okon-Effiong philanthropy knows no boundaries as she has been enhancing the mission of transforming communities and lives of the less privileged, downtrodden, indigent people, widows, orphan etc etc.
She also owns THE CITADEL CARE HOME and Greenlead African Initiative (GAI).
The Citadel Care Home is a center that cares for the aged while Greenlead African Initiative is a Non-governmental organization that gives education to indigent children across Nigeria and the globe. So far the NGO has graduated over 230 graduates.
The foundation was established with the aim of giving back to the communities in which they operate. The foundation aims to further advance mission of positively transforming local communities by supporting charitable organizations and events that benefit community residents in crucial areas such as emergency aid, healthcare and education.
She is a core progressive and an astute supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu right from the days of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to 2013 when All Progressive Congress (APC) was consummated.
She is happily married to AIG Okon Effiong Okon with lovely kids.
