SONOFMERCY – RACE

Sonofmercy Bernard is a fast rising independent artiste and a footballer, hails from Ebonyi state, Nigeria. Born on the 21st of August, 2003. Moved with his family to Lagos at the age of 10 for a better life then back to Ebonyi state because of hard times. Later left Ebonyi due to ethnic crises which took the lives of many and that of his younger brother.

In 2021 he left Nigeria for Gambia with some group of friends for greener pasture, then he encountered street football and started chasing a career in football, things were not easy so he had to leave Gambia after 6months, journeyed through Sahara desert for a month plus, then through Senegal, mali, Algeria and finally settled in Tunisia, some days he got traumatized by hard times and family he left behind in Nigeria what the condition was for them but that didn’t stop him. In Tunisia, Sonofmercy kept hustling to survive that he had to pick plastics from waste bins for recycling and all while still pursuing a career in football.

Sonofmercy later crossed Mediterranean see on the 7th attempt after many frustrated efforts to Italy in 2023. There he found his Love and passion for music.

RACE is a song by SONOFMERCY that tells his story, journey and hustle to motivate every hustler out there to keep believing and never give up on God and their dreams.
